The discovery auction will feature over 200 uncatalogued clocks. You must be in person at the gallery to preview and bid on these clocks as they are uncatalogued and are sold as is. We will be selling the discovery auction clocks in the 3 hours preceding the main catalogue auction event.

1              ITHACA NO. 6 HANGING LIBRARY CALENDAR CLOCK. This clock has original dials and hands. The upper dial is 5.25". The case is walnut and in very nice original condition. The top fret and bottom drop are both in good condition with no visible breaks. The surface of the case has very minor scratches and nicks associated with a clock of this age. 12"W x 32.5"H x 5"D. Est. $1,200 - 1,500.

2              J. C. BROWN "RIPPLE" BEEHIVE CLOCK. The case has a nice J. C. Brown label. This clock has good early hands and an early 5"dial which has slight imperfections. The dial and movement are signed J.C. Brown. The lower door has a bone knob and a wonderful etched gothic glass with country lake scene. The upper glass appears original. The case has a nice dark surface. 10.25"W x 19"H x 4"D. Est. $1,500 - 2,500.

3              ANSONIA ROYAL BONN "LA MINE" IN BLUE & TEAL. Signed Ansonia time & strike 8 day brass movement. This clock strikes the hour and half hour. It is signed on the back Royal Bonn. The 3.25"dial including the brass fancy sash is 5 inches in diameter. The case is in beautiful condition with no visible imperfections. It does have an exposed Brocot escapement. A fancy bezel with beveled glass crystal. It has its brass access dust cover. This case is decorated in blue and teal with colored flowers and water scene. The enamel dial is in good condition with no visible hairlines or chips. The hands are good. The clock has a pendulum. 11"W x 14"H x 6"D. Est. $800 - 1,200.

4              LARGE E. N. WELCH INLAID WALL CLOCK. This clock is signed E. N. Welch and is a typical brass 8 day time and strike spring driven movement with a 10.75" dial. The dial support plate has a number of extra holes. The clock has a good set of period style hands and a brass pendulum bob that has many dings dents and imperfections. The case has much inlay and veneer. The inside of the clock has a gilt framed mirror that can be seen when the door is closed. 32.5"W x 49"H x 6.5"D. Est. $700 - 900.

5              RODNEY BRACE CARVED COLUMN & SPLAT WITH "TORRINGTON" MOVEMENT. Early carved column and splat with paw feet. This clock has a good original printed label signed Rodney Brace and has a "TORRIGNTON" style woodworks movement with the winding arbors at 3:00 and 9:00. Good hands and a nice 9"dial in original condition. The lower door reverse painted glass appears to be original with maybe some backing touch up. The case is refinished in clean condition and has some reglued veneer pieces on the front. 16"W x 30"H x 4.5"D. Est. $1,500 - 1,800.

6              NEW HAVEN WESTMINSTER #3 CHIME CLOCK. This clock has the brass time and strike 8 day movement and the extra brass 8 day chime movement mounted under the main movement. Strikes on four anvils. Has an original 5"dial, hands and pendulum. The dial has chapter ring deterioration. The clock has a mahogany case with bronze trimmings. The bronze trimming under the dial that covers the chime winding hole is missing. 12.5"W x 18"H x 9"D. Est. $800 - 1,200.

7              CLARKE GILBERT "HOLLOW COLUMN" SHELF CLOCK. The hollow columns are birds eye maple. This clock has good period hands and a nice painted 6"dial with flowers in the corners. A signed Gilbert time and strike brass movement. An etched upper door glass and a reverse painted lower door glass. The lower door glass has been repainted. The clock has a primitive brass pendulum bob and nice period weights. An excellent label inside the clock. 18"W x 28.5"H x 5"D. Est. $800 - 1,200.

8              SETH THOMAS "#1 EXTRA" WEIGHT DRIVEN WALL CLOCK Mahogany veneered case with minor nicks and chips associated with a clock of this age. The case has a replaced lower glass tablet. Typical round weight driven S. B. Terry time only brass movement with spade hour and minute hands. The 12"dial has many imperfections. The clock has the signed Seth Thomas "EMBOSSED" pendulum bob with a gilt stick. The inside of the clock case has the weight board with original label. Cast iron weight that is functional but is not original to the clock. 19"W x 41"H x 5"D. Est. $1,500 - 2,500.

9              SETH THOMAS #13 "OFFICE CALENDAR" CLOCK Refinished oak case with all mouldings and trimmings intact. Weight driven time only brass movement. The clock has good spade and calendar hands, repainted 11"upper time dial and lower calendar dial. Although repainted these dials are done very well. The lower calendar drums appear original. 18.5"W x 48"H x 8"D. Est. $2,500 - 3,500.

10            ENGLISH FUSEE SKELETON CLOCK. This clock has a single time only fusee movement. A good glass dome on an ebonized wood base with original velvet at the center. The 5.25" dial is skeletonized and has paint and finish deterioration. The brass skeletonized movement is in the form of a Lyre. The clock has a good pendulum stick and bob with fancy hands. 13"W x 15"H x 6.5"D. Est. $700 - 900.

11            FRENCH EMPIRE SWINGING LYRE MANTLE CLOCK The ebonized lyre case has applied gilt brass mounts with cornucopias of fruit and flowers on the arms and a large central cartouche with a robed maiden radiating with sun rays and clouds below, swirling in the wind. Here the swing pendulum movement hangs, in the base of the pendulum. Time and bell-strike movement, with a steel pallet Brocot escapement. The back plate of the movement is marked P.D. 4391, the front plate is marked C.A.F. The dial shows some light design and black numerals below some floral and filigree decoration. The base shows a leaf molded brass section over a lower ebonized platform and 4 brass feet. This piece is in very good original condition, the crutch has been repaired.

12            MONUMENTAL 5' FIGURAL FLOOR CLOCK Full standing classical figure with braided hair, her arms are reaching up, holding a large elaborate spherical timepiece. The time and bell strike movement shows a lever platform escapement and is signed Lenzkirch - A.U.G. 1 Million and is numbered 386537. The enameled 5"dial with roman numerals for the hour and the exterior band represents the minutes. 23"W x 59.5"H x 14.5"D. Est. $3,500 - 4,500.

13            DANIEL PRATTS SON "BOSTON CLOCK CO." WEIGHT DRIVEN WALL CLOCK. The 11.5" dial is signed Daniel Pratts Son with some minor touchup and the movement is signed "BOSTON CLOCK CO." The brass movement is numbered 8 at least twice. A nice period style cast iron weight and good brass pulley. The plain brass bob with a flat black stick which has a prior repair under the keystone. The mahogany case has a good redone finish. The hands are period and in good condition. 15.5"W x 32.5"H x 5"D. Est. $2,000 - 3,000.

14            HOWARD & DAVIS #3 WEIGHT DRIVEN BANJO CLOCK This clock has a refinished case and new glasses with an unsigned typical brass movement. Some unusual wood was removed from the inside of the bezel. There is a massive weight that has been modified to work in this case with the movement pulley. The 9"clock dial has some paint restoration. A black painted flat wood stick with a highly polished pendulum bob. This is a highly restored clock. The lower throat glass support frame has a lower left screw hole that is worn. 16"W x 38"H x 4.5"D. Est. $1,000 - 1,500.

15            ADAMS, LONDON BOXED CHRONOMETER A double boxed B. F. & T. Davies, English boxed chronometer. The outer wood box has a broken leather strap. The outer wood box is nicely dovetailed and appears to be original. The inner wood box has a brass plaque signed "Adams London No 36, Lombard Street" The plaque box also has a bone inlay signed "1813". The inner box has a lock and key. The chronometer has a full gimbaled brass tub with original key. The clock has a nice set of yellow spade and poker hands. The 3.75"dial has a soft butler finish with black Roman hour numerals and black minute markers. The dial is signed " B. F. & T. Davies, Utica New York" The dial has a subsidiary second bit and an up/down power indicator. The movement is a solid brass single fusee movement with detent escapement and helical hairspring. The movement is dry of oil and sluggish. The does run but does not make 24 hours. The key supplied in the box is old and is for winding the clock not setting the hands. Both boxes have a nice old soft finish. 6.5"W x 7"H x 6.5"D. Est. $1,000 - 1,500.

16            TIFFANY & CO GOTHIC BRACKET CLOCK W/ PORCELAIN INSERTS Bronze gothic steeple case with a finial and pierced gallery at the crest. 9 assorted enameled scenic porcelain inserts accent the case along with 4 square decorated columns with chamfered corners. The 4" dial is centered with a winter scene and is signed Tiffany & Co. New York. The time and strike movement has and a single coiled gong with number 4120. The movement is signed Tiffany & Co. New York. Good original untouched condition. 10"W x 19.5"H x 6"D. Est. $2,000 - 3,000.

17            TIFFANY & CO. GILDED BRASS CRYSTAL REGULATOR CLOCK French 8 day brass movement with 3.5" enameled dial and coiled anvil strike, signed Tiffany & Co, New York. Gilt brass case with ornate panels and fluted corner columns over turned feet. The 4 beveled glass panels are intact. 6.5"W x 12.5"H x 5"D. Est. $700 - 900.

18            SETH THOMAS "REGULATOR #7" WALL CLOCK. The clock has a very nice 11"dial with an original surface and original hands. The dial has a single set of holes for the mounting screws but the wood plate under the dial has two sets of mounting holes. The case is clean and in good condition. It is the shorter version of the #7. The clock has a #62 time only weight driven brass movement with maintaining power. Has as a good pendulum rod and bob with a typical brass weight. 18"W x 47"H x 8"D. Est. $6,000 - 8,000.

19            WATERBURY "LIBRARY" WALL CLOCK. 8 day time and strike oak cased wall clock. Original 7"enamel dial with good hands. The case has a nice original surface with minor nicks and scratches associated with a clock of this age. The case has two proper side lights. The clock has a wood stick with brass bob and a brass weight driven movement with 2 weights and ladder chain. 17.5"W x 42"H x 6.5"D. Est. $1,500 - 2,000.

20            8 BELL QUARTER HOUR STRIKE MANTLE CLOCK Lg. well made mantle clock with carved mahogany case and openwork gallery, wood balcony with dentil moulding and turned columns. The case is original finish with one finial top missing. 8 day time, strike and chime brass movement. It strikes the quarters on 8 bells and the hours on a cathedral anvil. The movement is very large and well made. Silvered 7.5" dial with blued spade and poker hands. 12.5"W x 22.5"H x 8"D. Est. $750 - 1,150.

21            WALTHAM WEIGHT DRIVEN PRESENTATION BANJO CLOCK. 8 day weight driven time only movement. The case is in very good condition and has a wood presentation bracket with brass side arms. The clock has an original pendulum, weight, hands and 6.5"dial. The reverse painted lower door and throat glasses are both in very nice condition. 10.5"W x 37"H x 4"D. Est. $1,500 - 2,000.

22            18TH C. ENGLISH 8 DAY GRANDFATHER CLOCK Carved oak case with a "Spanish Conquistador" on the trunk door. This clock has a square 12.5" brass dial which is signed "COATS WIGAN". An 8 day brass time and strike movement with calendar. Good period hands and typical cast iron weights. The clock has an early 1812 repair tag from England on the door. The pendulum bob is period and has a proper rod. 24"W x 81"H x 12"D. Est. $2,500 - 3,500.

23            MONUMENTAL WALL CLOCK & BAROMETER These are fabulous archictural pieces from a hotel or public building. Over 4 feet long with victorian fruit and grape carvings. The clock has a high quality time & strike brass spring driven movement with Brocot escapement. The 13" reverse painted glass dials are signed A.M. Richy a Paris and are in good condition. The hands are original. The clock has a Centigrade thermometer on the lower portion, and the Barometer has a Fahrenheit thermometer. The mahogany hand carved cases are a matching pair. 24"W x 50.5"H x 5.5"D. Est. $6,000 - 8,000.

24            CHARLES FRODSHAM, LONDON DOUBLE BOXED CHRONOMETER The outer wood box appears to be original and is marked in chalk on the inside "1813". The leather strap is missing. The inner wood box has a brass plaque signed "Charles Frodsham" London. It also has a bone inlaid medallion "1813". The inner box has a lock and key. The chronometer has a full gimbaled brass tub with original key. It has a brass dust cover that is keyed. Nice set of very delicate blued hands. The 3"dial has a soft butler finish with black Roman hour numerals and black minute markers. The dial is signed " CHARLES FRODSHAM 7 PAVEMENT FINSBURY SQU LONDON NO. 1813." The dial has a subsidiary second bit and an up/down power indicator. The movement is a solid brass single fusee movement with detent escapement and helical hairspring. The movement is dry of oil and sluggish. It does run but does not make 24 hours. It would benefit from a cleaning and oil. The key supplied in the box is old and does wind the clock but is not for setting the hands. Both boxes have a nice old soft finish. 6.25"W x 7"H x 6.25"D. Est. $1,500 - 2,500.

25            ANSONIA HUNTRESS FIGURAL SWINGING ARM CLOCK The tall figure of a Huntress is shown wearing a robe, holding a pair of birds and standing on a platform. Her left hand holds the bar from which the pendulum swings. The pendulum sits on an "X" suspension spring and the time only movement rests inside of the upper 4.5"sphere. Signed Ansonia Clock Co. 7"W x 25"H x 7"D. Est. $2,500 - 3,500.

26            FRENCH 3 PC GOTHIC BRONZE CLOCK SET Large gothic cathedral completely reticulated and structured with a flowering finial at the top. The concave 4.5"dial is mounted with gilt roman numerals. Brass 8 day time and bell strike movement is signed "Le Marti et Co." Accompanied by a matching pair of side urns with similar gothic features. 14.5"W x 24"H x 6"D. Est. $1,000 - 1,500.

27            GUILMET BEAM ENGINE FRENCH INDUSTRIAL CLOCK This time only, spring driven timepiece is wound from the back, the movement is marked "Medaille Dor - G L T - Paris" and numbered 160. It has a 2" porcelain dial. The case shows a worn silvered and gilt finish. The top beam forms the upper part of the pendulum and rocks when the clock is running. Circa 1880. 8"W x 7"H x 3.5"D. Est. $5,000 - 7,000.

28            E.N. WELCH "PATTI V.P." ROSEWOOD MANTLE CLOCK High quality rosewood case in good original finish and decorated door glass. "Patti V.P." label on the back. The original 4.75" dial has imperfections around the winding holes. The movement is an early brass time & strike with the "X" style front and back plates. Proper "Patti" style pendulum and hands. 13"W x 19"H x 6"D. Est. $800 - 1,200.

29            ITHACA "#2 1/2 BRISBANE" DOUBLE DIAL WALL CLOCK The clock has an original 11"upper dial and lower calendar dial with good calendar drums. It has period hour and minute hands and a proper calendar hand. A time only 30 day brass movement signed "Made for Ithaca Clock Co. by E.N. Welch Co., Forestville Conn. The walnut case has been refinished. The original decorative wood pendulum bob and stick are present. 16"W x 42"H x 8"D. Est. $2,500 - 3,500.

30            WATERBURY "JOLIET" OAK CALENDAR WALL CLOCK. Time only brass 8 day movement with typical hands. The 7"dial is original but has many imperfections and touch ups. The lower calendar drums are in good condition as is the black door glass. The case is in nice original finish and condition. 15.5"W x 36.5"H x 9"D. Est. $1,000 - 1,200.

31            ENGLISH BRASS GRAVITY CLOCK W/ OPEN ESCAPEMENT The movement shows an open escapement and pendulum bob behind a 3.25"clear glass dial. The two arms running through the case vertically allow the timepiece to move up and down, the use of gravity built into the two support arms drives the movement. In very good working condition. 4.5"W x 10.5"H x 2"D. Est. $800 - 1,200.

32            F. KROEBER "PARTHIA" EBONIZED WALL CLOCK. This clock has an 8 day time and strike movement with a good enamel 4.25"dial and proper hands. Ebonized case with inlaid floral marquetry. The clock has beveled plate glass side mirrors and an etched glass pendulum bob with signed level indicator. This clock is in nice original condition. 13"W x 32"H x 5"D. Est. $700 - 900.

33            NEW HAVEN WEIGHT DRIVEN BANJO CLOCK. This clock has a silvered 7"dial with minor imperfections and typical spade hands. Brass 8 day time only movement with maintaining power. Original reverse painted glasses with a presentation bracket. The clock has brass side arms, a brass eagle and a large brass pendulum bob. 12.5"W x 44.5"H x 5.5"D. Est. $800 - 1,200.

34            ASA MUNGER MIRROR CLOCK Mahogany shelf clock with carved columns "Asa Munger, Auburn, N.Y". The clock has a two early labels. The typical brass 8 day time and strike clock movement with inside count wheel strike system. The dial is signed and appears to be original. It has the typical off set winding arbors. The 7"dial does not appear to set in the center of the door glass. When looking at the clock the dial is set to the left and the circle for viewing the clock is set a bit to the right. The clock has original wallpaper on the inside of the case. The upper door glass has a green crystal type paint and the lower door has a mirror with many imperfections. The case is missing it's large overhanging top. 19.5"W x 38.5"H x 6.5"D. Est. $2,500 - 3,500.

35            WATERBURY "SAMBO" BLINKING EYE CLOCK This cast iron clock has a good original 2.75"dial and good hands. The eyes are correct and the movement is original. The clock case appears to have all original paint and is in very good condition for a clock of this age. There are number of chips and minor paint loss. 7"W x 16"H x 5"D. Est. $3,000 - 5,000.

36            WATERBURY "TOPSEY" BLINKING EYE CLOCK. This cast iron clock has a good original 2.75"dial and good hands. The eyes and movement are original. The clock case appears to have original paint and is in very good condition. There are number of chips and minor paint loss. 8.5"W x 17"H x 6.5"D. Est. $3,000 - 5,000.

37            FRENCH EMPIRE GILT BRONZE SILK THREAD MANTLE CLOCK The very fine and detailed gilt bronze case features a robed classical maiden standing next to an elaborate empire throne chair with standing winged griffins. In her right hand she holds a counterbalance scale, on which a cherub and a moth sit. Very precise and fine detail in her features. In the chair rests a long flowing robe consealing a French silk thread time and bell-strike movement with an enameled 3"dial. The base is molded with assorted filigree and seashell design all over 4 knurled conical feet. The gilt is in very good condition showing some green and losses in a few spots, also shows some moderate modifications to the counterbalance structure. Pendulum is missing. 13"W x 17"H x 5.5"D. 38            ANSONIA JUNO BALL SWING FIGURAL MANTLE CLOCK The tall figure of Juno is shown wearing a robe and standing on a platform. Her left hand holds the bar from which the pendulum swings. The pendulum sits on an X suspension and the time only movement rests inside of the upper sphere of the pendulum which is 3.5" in diameter, it is signed Ansonia Clock Co. 6"W x 28"H x 8"D. Est. $2,500 - 3,500.

39            ELMER O. STENNES CROSS BANDED BANJO CLOCK. 8 day time only weight driven brass movement. Good clean 6.75"dial and hands with a typical brass pendulum bob. The cross banded wood case has minor imperfections especially by the button for opening the lower door. The case is other wise in nice condition. The clock has a reverse painted throat glass and lower door glass. Both of these are in good condition. 10"W x 33"H x 3.5"D. Est. $1,500 - 2,500.

40            ANSONIA "ANTIQUE HANGING" CLOCK This clock is in nice original condition with all decorative trimmings intact, good original weights, pendulum bob and inset decorative panel. The clock has good hands and a very nice 9.5" dial. The mahogany case has a good soft original finish. This is a very nice example of this model clock. 16.5"W x 46"H x 9"D. Est. $7,500 - 8,500.

41            FRENCH INDUSTRIAL BRONZE LIBERTY BELL TIMEPIECE The silvered nickel bell is inscribed "Vae. Mihi. Si. Non. Evangelisavero" (Woe to me if I preach not the gospel). It hangs on the oak bracket, suspending from the two bronze support arms on either side, mounted to the chamfered red marble platform base. Time only hairspring movement, which has a silvered 2"dial. In very good, clean condition. 9.5"W x 12"H x 7"D. Est. $2,000 - 3,000.

42            GILBERT REGULATOR #16 STANDING JEWELERS REGULATOR CLOCK Elaborate carved oak case with glass side panels in original finish with Egyptian head in the upper crest. Ornate crest finials are missing, but the rest of the case is wonderful. 12" porcelain dial with sweep second hand. Weight driven 8 day brass movement with dead beat escapement and retaining power. Mercury 3 jar compensating pendulum. 33"W x 100"H x 12"D. Est. $10,000 - 15,000.

43            FRENCH FIGURAL BRONZE & MARBLE ANNULAR CLOCK Features two figural nude women embracing a tall torchier, reaching up to light it with small torches in their right hands. The top of the torchier shows a flame finial over the porcelain annular dial with black roman numerals. Below, the main post is decorated with triangular ionic capitals, rose and filigree strands and rams heads near the base. The white marble base is mounted with gilt bronze filigree and a single door front and back over a gilt platform. The movement has a great quality silvered lever platform escapement showing nice brisk motion, it is marked on the front 74, and on the back 174 with a signature resembling overlapping letters A C inside of and oval, also has a lever in the back to "pause" the movement. In very good clean condition. 11"W x 31"H x 8.5"D. Est. $14,000 - 16,000.

44            SMALL FRENCH BRASS NOVELTY CLOCK UNDER DOME The relief molded frame has a religious figure at the top over reticulated scrolled filigree and a shield at the base. 46            "RUEBEN TOWER" MASSACHUSETTS SHELF CLOCK Massachusetts weight driven shelf clock signed "RUEBEN TOWER, HINGHAM". The clock hands are primitive and do not match. The 9.5" x 6.75" dial has an old surface with many paint repairs and imperfections. The dial is attached to the seat board with two screws and a cross piece of wood on the case. The cross piece of wood where the third screw hole attaches is missing. The clock has a very primitive time only banjo style brass clock movement. The movement is early and the brass has many imperfections. The movement construction is also a bit primitive with short wheel teeth and rough cut pinions and arbors. The pendulum bob is smaller and lighter than a banjo clock bob. The pendulum bob upper suspension block has been repaired. The movement crutch is also thinner, flatter and much more primitive than most crutches on movements of this type. One of the seat board hooks has been replaced. The brass pulley is early and the correct style and size for the clock movement. It is a bit smaller than a banjo clock pulley. The mahogany case has inlay in the bonnet and base. The base has missing glue blocks and a replaced back brace. The clock has a number of other minor amateurish repairs and other imperfections. 47            E. HOWARD & CO. CUSTOM MADE FANCY GALLERY CLOCK. Made to be built into the upper gallery of a church or public building. This clock is similar to the E. Howard Model 140. It has a mahogany case with 10.5" marble dial and an 8 day time only pendulum regulated brass movement marked #28. A good pendulum stick bob and weight. The clock appears in nice original untouched condition. The lower drop in front of the clock would drop into the wall and not show but have access by a panel on the back of the case. 50            MINIATURE FRENCH SKELETON CLOCK French Miniature Skeleton Clock under period glass dome. The spring driven time and alarm brass movement is 7 ½ inches high by 3 inches wide with moon hands. The 2.5" time enamel dial has slight imperfections and a chip at the 28 minute mark. A sub alarm enamel dial and setting device with a day of the month enamel calendar dial has minor imperfections. The movement has a Brocot escapement with steel pallets and a solid brass pendulum bob with a steel rod. It sits on a period wood base. 51            WALTHAM #34 WEIGHT DRIVEN REGULATOR. This clock has a signed 8 day time only weight driven brass movement with maintaining power. The 11.25"dial has been refinished and appears to be a replacement. The wood support under the dial has many additional holes on it. The oak case is in good condition and has been redone. Typical cast iron weight with correct moon style hands. 16"W x 35"H x 5"D. Est. $1,200 - 1,500.

52            EUREKA CLOCK CO. BALLOON REGULATOR. Case is in decent condition with a shell inlay on the front and satinwood inlaid trim. The base of the clock has some cracking. The back of the case has a large door. Good brass bezel with round glass crystal. 4.25" enamel dial is signed "Eureka Clock Co. Ltd, London" with bold black Roman hour numerals and black minute markers with black spade hands. There are a number of hairlines in the chapter ring. Fast /slow regulator on the front. Patented massive balance wheel with beautiful balance timing screws and cap jewels. The hairspring is good and the large battery is present in the base. The clock is "No. 4869, Patent 14614, 1906". 53            NEW HAMPSHIRE STYLE MIRROR CLOCK This clock has a case that is typical of a Joseph Ives style but the clock has a very unusual skeletonized brass movement which has half moon cutouts at the base. The construction of the movement is quite typical of a New Hampshire maker but the case style lends itself to be from further south. The clock has period style hands, a badly flaking 7"dial, unusual green reverse painted upper glass and a lower mirror in the door. It has a broken arch top which is not original. The case front is gilded and has chipping, imperfections and loss of gilt in many places. The clock has a typical pendulum rod, brass bob and cast iron type clock weight. 14"W x 40"H x 5.5"D. 54            SETH THOMAS #10 PARLOR CALENDAR This clock has a carved walnut case and has good original 8.5"dials that have minor imperfections, nicks and flaking. There are no extra holes under the dial on the wood support frame. The hands are correct. 8 day time and strike Lyre model 8 ½ signed movement. with a complete lower calendar mechanism. 55            E. HOWARD & CO. #70 WEIGHT DRIVEN WALL CLOCK. The clock has spade hands, a proper cast iron weight marked "70" and a nicely damaskeened brass pendulum bob. The oak case has a blonde look and has been refinished. The 11"dial is in very good condition and also appears to have been refinished. This is a clean nice looking example. 15.5"W x 31"H x 5"D. 56            E. HOWARD & CO. SQUARE BOTTOM #5 BANJO CLOCK Dial signed "E. HOWARD & CO. BOSTON" The bottom of the clock is a bit different with the square base. This clock has an early 6.25"dial with many imperfections but is still quite readable. There are a few tiny small holes under the dial on the wood case. The clock has typical moon hands and brass pulley, a black tapered banjo style weight with a "V" on the front. Good early glasses with minor imperfections. Plain brass bob. The wood weight guard is painted black. The movement is signed E. Howard & Co. The back of the case does not have any extra movement holes. 57            TIMBY SOLAR MANTLE CLOCK This style of clock was made by Theodore R. Timby of Baldwinsville New York. The 6" diameter globe was made by Gilman Joslin, a Boston map maker and is in exceptionally good condition. The clock has a walnut case and has a good original finish. 8-day time only brass movement with a balance wheel escapement. The upper disc dial with hours and minutes, with a lower 4"seconds disc dial. 14"W x 27"H x 5"D. Est. $8,000 - 10,000.

58            MASSIVE ITHACA WALNUT HOTEL LOBBY CALENDAR CLOCK A terrific find for the serious Ithaca Clock Collector. This clock has a massive Victorian custom 2 part case with decorative side panels with mirrors. Typical 8 day time and strike movement with an Ithaca calendar movement in the base. The mantle and case have minor scratches and nicks. Overall the clock case is in good condition. Both 7" time and calendar dials are original and in good condition. The calendar drums also appear to be original. The clock has a wonderful glass pendulum with the letters ICC Etched in the bob. 49"W x 56.5"H x 9.5"D. Est. $10,000 - 15,000.

59            E. HOWARD & CO. #10, FIGURE 8 WALL CLOCK. The original 7.25"dial has many small paint imperfections and is signed in a fancy script. The dial wood support plate has 2 extra unexplained holes. The dial looks good and all the dial holes match up except for two extra in non dial screw places. The clock has nice moon hands. The weight is correct and is marked "10". The bob is brass and has a simple damaskeening design. The wood pendulum stick is painted black. The case is marked in a number of places XVIII. The case has had prior repairs and the repair person put old labels and has signed the case. We see at least two repairs from 1908 and 1928. The keystone is marked with number 8. The movement is marked number 5 and is signed E. Howard & Co. The wood back board has a number of holes in the case from what appears to have been attempts to attach the case to the wall. The throat glass and lower door glass are old and have minor imperfections. The case has a nice old dark finish. 11"W x 34"H x 5"D. Est. $5,000 - 7,500.

60            FRENCH AUTOMATON GOTHIC GILT BRONZE MANTLE CLOCK Large gilt bronze case with fine detail of a tall gothic cathedral on a rocky ledge. The staggered stairs lead to a walkway with a long banister and a second set of stairs leading to arched double doors. 4 independent standing figures are shown on pedestals and shelves around the structure. The very fine bronze case shows lifelike detail in the stone building towers, arches and the scrolled moldings. The balcony has 3 tall steeples and a watch tower to the left, in the center of the balcony there are 2 animated figures striking a bell on the hour, 2 hammers strike a single bell. Matching numbers (802)on the movement and pendulum. The pendulum hangs on a suspension spring while the animation is driven thru a silk thread mechanism. 2.5"porcelain dial with black roman numerals. 61            FRENCH FIGURAL MARBLE & BRONZE CLOCK - SAMUEL MARTI Shows a nice gilt bronze, winged putti playing a drum. The right hand holds a mallet and the left hand balances the large drum on his hip. Sits on an oval white marble platform with bronze mounts and turned feet. The time and bell strike movement is signed Samuel Marti, Paris 1900. The 3.75" porcelain dial shows a small chip at 12 o'clock and on the left-hand keyhole. 12"W x 12.5"H x 5.5"D. 62            FRENCH BRASS LIGHTHOUSE TIME ONLY MANTLE CLOCK Time only hair-spring movement mounted at the top of the tower behind a 3" porcelain dial with polished brass bezel. The brass body has a black finish with incised brickwork replicating the structure of the tower 2 windows in the midsection and a door with 2 windows at the base. This clock is not automated, it is in good clean condition. 6.5"W x 18.5"H. Est. $1,500 - 2,000.

63            ANSONIA "QUEEN ANNE" OAK WALL CLOCK. 8 day time and strike spring driven wall clock. The case is clean and appears in fantastic original condition. The 7"dial is original and in good condition. The dial has good color with minor nicks and scratches associated with a clock of this age. The hands are a very fancy Maltese style. 65            E. HOWARD & CO. MODEL #72, WALL REGULATOR. Weight driven time only wall regulator with a Graham dead beat escapement. The 11" refinished dial has a seconds bit and is very well done. There are no extra dial holes but there are some unexplained small holes on the wood dial support plate. The hands are typical open diamond. The mahogany case has a beautiful original finish. The case has minor nicks and scratches associated with a clock of this age. The typical weight and wood pendulum rod are gilt and the bob is brass. The keystone is marked "12". 66            ATKINS MASSIVE DOUBLE FUSSEE GALLERY CLOCK. The case is fancy rosewood veneer with ripple moulding. The clock has good moon hands and a good metal painted 16.5"dial. It has an interesting double fusee time only 30 day movement. The movement appears to have had new cable installed recently. The bezel hinge is a bit loose due to the fact the bezel is quite heavy. 27"W. Est. $1,500 - 2,500.

67            ANSONIA CRYSTAL PALACE #1 EXTRA WITH CHERUB PENDULUM BOB. Has the typical statues and a wonderful side swinging cherub pendulum bob. The clock also has a paper dial decorated with angels and cherubs. The bottom of the 4.75"dial is signed "HG Davies Patent Applied For." The clock has a brass 8 day time and strike movement. 68            DANIEL PRATT JR. WAGON SPRING "DOUBLE STEEPLE" MANTLE CLOCK. A signed "BIRGE & FULLER", 8 day time and strike brass movement with a wagon spring. The clock is in overall very nice condition. The 5"dial is in nice original condition with minor paint loss. The hour hand is replaced. The upper door glass is etched and in nice condition. The lower reverse painted door glass is just fantastic. The upper right hand spire has slight damage to the tip. 70            UNITED STATES CLOCK CO. ASTRONOMICAL FLOOR CLOCK Regulator "D" style carved walnut case with a bonnet top and a figural maiden head in the crest. This is a massive floor clock, standing over 9 feet tall. This model clock is so rare that it is the first one we've seen in over 30 years of selling clocks. Limited documentation shows that "little is known of this firm which produced a line of high grade regulators around 1870 and sold them through the depot of "Terhune & Edwards" located at 18 Cortlandt St. in New York City. The case has an old refinish and is in excellent condition. The 14"silvered dial is dirty and has some staining. It would benefit from a professional cleaning. Original weight and compensating brass pendulum, the glass jar is a replacement. Jeweled pallets with maintaining power. 72            "ELLIOT OF LONDON" 3 WEIGHT GRANDFATHER CLOCK This clock has a mahogany case, keyed upper and lower doors with one key and a broken arch bonnet with fluted columns. The bonnet has a centered brass finial. The clock has a massive brass 8 day time, strike and chime movement striking the chime on anvils and the hours on a separate anvil. The dial is signed "Elliot London" and "Hull, Stickney & Twichell". The silvered dial chapter ring has been cleaned and has silver loss. The dial has a moon phase and good period hands. 73            FRENCH MYSTERY SWINGING BALLOON TIMEPIECE The basket below, with anchor, carries the balloonist. The whole assembly oscillates on a brass and white onyx stand. The balloon has applied white enamel numbers, 8 day time only movement, Circa 1900.

74            BREWSTER & INGRAHAMS GOTHIC TWIN STEEPLE. "ORIENTAL STYLE" mantle clock by Brewster and Ingraham. This rosewood veneered case is clean and has been polished. The back of the gothic top has slight damage. The four steeples appear in good condition. The case door has a very nice etched glass with heart design. The clock has a good old 5" dial with minor flaking and imperfections. Under the dial there are many unexplained holes on the wood dial support frame. The clock movement has extreme bushing wear with an exterior bushing added to the outside of the escape wheel on the front plate. Many of the train wheel bushings have been pricked punched. The hour hand is a replacement. The minute hand is functional. The pendulum bob is typical but replaced. The inside of the case has an ancient label. The clock does have power going to the escapement. Please note: This clock has been in a collection for many years and would benefit from cleaning, repaired bushings and fresh oil if going to be run on a daily basis. 12"W x 20"H x 4"D. The clock has good early glasses with plenty of imperfections in them. The case still has good rosewood graining. The bottom of the clock is a bit different with the square base. 89            PRESTON EMPIRE OCTAGON HALF COLUMN SHELF CLOCK. This clock has carved capitals at the top of the octagon half columns and underneath the empire crown molding. A nice old mirror above the door. Weight driven 30 hour wood works time, strike and alarm 3 weight movement with a 6" dial. The clock has a new reverse painted glass in the lower part of the door. 90            TIFFANY & CO, MAKERS CUSTOM GRANDFATHER CLOCK Massive time, strike & chime brass clock movement with the chimes striking on 4 anvils and the hour strike on one anvil. The diamond studded presentation dial is inscribed "Manufactured for Mary T. Johnson 1888" and "TIFFANY & CO. MAKERS". The dial has a silver chapter ring with bold black roman numerals, it has a silver seconds bit with black Arabic seconds numerals at 15, 30, 45 and 60 and an arch with a moon phase dial. The dial has four raised corner spandrels and bold large spade hour and minute hands. The 8 day brass movement is also signed "Tiffany & Co, Makers" and chimes on 5 coiled springs. The original finish mahogany case has magnificent figural cherubs at the top of the broken arch. The bonnet has fluted and rope twisted columns, carved flowers, dentil moldings and carved capitals. 95            FRENCH INDUSTRIAL ANIMATED LIGHTHOUSE CLOCK The top of the light tower shows a silvered finish with a timepiece on the front, thermometers left and right and a barometer on the back. Driven from a separate movement in the base of the tower, the top section oscillates clockwise showing the 4 sides. The time only hairspring movement has a silvered dial matching that of the barometer on the reverse and they both show a gilt bezel with beveled glass, the 2.25"dial is numbered 2926. The gilt body has a nice finish with incised brickwork replicating the structure of the tower. There are windows in the body and a door at the base which opens revealing the wind for the oscillating mechanism. 6.5"W x 18"H. Est. $3,000 - 5,000.

96            FRENCH FIGURAL SWINGING ARM CLOCK The male figure in a partial robe, one hand holds a wine goblet and the other holds the french time & strike swinging pendulum movement by Victor Debree, #151 encased in the upper sphere. On the base is a large urn and scattered grape clusters. The pendulum hangs on an "X" suspension spring from a post in the figures hand. This spring is a replacement. 9.5"W x 33.5"H x 9"D. The case has had at least 3 prior repairs and the repair person has written on the inside of the case. The keystone is marked with number 8. The movement is marked number 8. The movement is signed E. 102          LARGE BLACK FOREST CASTLE CUCKOO MANTLE CLOCK Signed "Kriegel & Hartmann - Geneve, Suisse" on 2 small plaques. The case has a detailed wooden castle. Bricks are carved on the surface of the building and detailed shingles on the roof. A long walkway with a section of stairs and a railing is shown across the front, to the right of the entrance. The front and side walls are carved with tall vines, assorted windows and a bird perched on a plaque which reads 1678. At the roof is a large round watchtower to the left and a small shelter to the right. Centered is a small balcony with a door from which the bird sings on the hour. The movement, signed GHS, has a 5.5" dial and a single hammer strike to a coiled anvil and two whistles mounted to the case. A separate cylinder music box is fixed to the box as well, not attached to the clock movement. Shows remainence of a paper label on the back of the door. 103          "ELLIOT OF LONDON" CARVED 9 TUBE GRANDFATHER CLOCK This clock has a top quality massive solid brass clock movement sitting on a solid mahogany seat board. This movement provides a choice of striking the quarters in Westminster or Whittington chimes on tubes. The hour strikes on a single tube. The clock has quality brass weights and a good original pendulum with steel flat rod and brass bob. It has a typical London style dial with silvered chapter ring with large bold raised Arabic hour numerals, pierced brass raised decorative spandrels and sub seconds bit. Original hands, moon phase with lunar calendar, silent/chime lever, chime choice lever and the dial is signed "ELLIOT LONDON". 105          E. HOWARD & CO. #61 ASTRONOMICAL FLOOR STANDING REGULATOR CLOCK. The case is carved walnut with burled trim in excellent condition. The case may have been lightly cleaned at some point but retains much of the original finish with good color and patina. All case parts are original and in excellent condition. The 14" vitrolite reverse painted glass dial has been redone. The movement has a Graham dead beat escapement with red ruby pallets. The escape wheel bushings are ruby hole jewels. The remaining bushings are brass. The clock has maintaining power and a full Geneva Stop. The movement has original custom brass top and side dust covers. There are three screws missing on the left dust cover. It is held in place with the three remaining screws. The movement is signed E. Howard & Co. Boston. The keystone with suspension is numbered "6" and number "147". The clock has a brass and steel pendulum with rating nut and 4 jar pendulum bob which is numbered "2578", "147", and "6". The correct brass pulley and brass weight. This clock was acquired by the third owner and in accompanied by a letter from Howard Clock Products, Inc. Formerly The E. Howard Clock Co. Waltham Mass. Dated June 17, 1941 to Mr. C.F. Morris, 2504 N.E. Second Ave. Miami Fla. stating that "The record on your clock says sold October 12, 1874 to Edmands & Wiggin, Bangor Maine, #3 fine movement in #61 style case, pendulum #147, mercury 2578 dwts. The price of the clock was probably $800.00; in cases made to hang on the wall they were $750.00, the standing case was $50.00 additional. We are returning your photograph. This was of use to convince us that the record was O.K. Then cases were made in our old factory, and the carving was all hand work. The letter was signed by W.J. Elton, Treasurer. Typical cast iron weight with a number "5". The case is in a dark finish, in good condition but the weight has gone through the base in the past and has been repaired. The lower convex door reverse painted glass of the "U.S. Macedonian" has some paint loss. The reverse painted throat glass is in decent condition but has imperfections. 112          SETH THOMAS "REGULATOR #5" WEIGHT DRIVEN WALL REGULATOR Original 7"silvered dial with seconds bit has a number of imperfections but is still quite readable. The hands are blued spade form. It has the proper #5 style weight driven movement and brass weight. The walnut case is refinished with original drops and finials, the veneer has been replaced on the lower bracket. The bracket is original. 113          FRENCH FIGURAL 3 PIECE GARGOYLE MUSICAL CLOCK SET The polychromed spelter case shows a large winged gargoyle wearing a red robe and hood and is sitting on a base drum playing music with a mallet in one hand, a cymbal in the other and bells on his ankles. The drum sits on a cross stretcher base mounted on a decorative platform with winged griffins on the sides. The original pendulum bob has a spider and a fly trapped in it's web. The time and strike 8 day movement is numbered on the back "7531" and has a porcelain 2.75"dial. 2 matching candlesticks, both are figural with winged gargoyles, one playing a guitar and the other playing a violin. 114          HILLS GOODRICH & CO. GILDED COLUMN OGEE. Plainville Conn. scarce ogee shelf clock. Nice mahogany veneered case with a reverse painted tablet of the "CAPITAL AT WASHINGTON". Two gilded columns and a carved gilded crest are exposed through the upper glass door. A good early 7.25"dial and period hands. 8 day time and strike brass movement is encased into a brass shell. 115          ANSONIA ROYAL BONN "LA ROCHE" IN GREEN. This clock is signed on the back with Royal Bonn. The 3.75"dial including the brass fancy sash is 5 inches in diameter. The case is in beautiful condition with no visible imperfections. It has an exposed Brocot escapement with steel pallets. A fancy brass bezel with beveled glass crystal. It has its brass movement access dust cover. This case is decorated with a strong green color with pink, yellow and blue flowers with accents. 116          FRENCH INDUSTRIAL BEAM ENGINE AUTOMATED CLOCK The case features a beam engine with a long cross beam at the top, a large fly wheel in the back and many moving mechanics of a classic beam engine, this structure is operated from a separate movement in the base made by Albert & JM Anderson Mfg. Co. Boston, Ma. The bronze case shows a gold and copper colored finish and some incised decoration resembling the brick structure of the engine base. Here in the front is mounted 3 silvered dials, a barometer to the left, a thermometer to the right and a time and bell-strike Jappy Freres hairspring movement with a 2.75" porcelain dial in the center. It is running with a great motion and has an early brass key with it. 3" enamel dial and good early hands, The front plate of the case is made of metal and is signed "PARIS". It has a partial piece of the label left on the back of the glass dome signed "PATENT MARINE TIME PIECE". This clock has the patented "Bottsford" marine escapement. 137          ASTRONOMICAL STANDING JEWELERS REGULATOR CLOCK, ATTR. JOSEPH CONDLIFF Carved walnut victorian style floor standing case with fruit carved crest and inlaid base. Original dust cover, custom made for this movement at the time of manufacture which has an addition to accept the great wheel and knurled knobs for holding the side plates in place. The graham dead beat movement is very good quality with a beat adjustment at the top. It has jeweled pallets and maintaining power. All the bushings having individual pivot caps on the back of the main plate which are held in with two screws. Each cap has a screw to act like a cap jewel in a watch. Single glass jar mercury pendulum bob with fancy brass pulley and original brass weight. The engraved silvered 11.5"dial is in very good condition and has Roman hour numerals. The clock is in overall very nice condition with good hands and a good 5"dial with typical imperfections for a clock of this age. The upper door glass is a redone reverse painted glass. The lower reverse painted door glass is just fantastic. Both spires appear in good condition. The case is clean with minor imperfections, nicks and chips. 141          FRENCH INDUSTRIAL ANIMATED WATER FOUNTAIN CLOCK The two color bronze case has a nice dark patina and applied gilt bronze mounts. At the top it shows an arched crest bordered with gilt leaf moldings, under this arch shows a man and a woman sitting in the reeds next to a pond, between them is a twisted glass rod representing running water when it animates or spins. The midsection shows a pair of gilt 3 dimensional dolphins on either side of the dial with "water" flowing from their mouths into a cut glass reservoir below. The base has gilt leaf molded border over a lower platform and four gilt feet. The hairspring movement is numbered 18726 and it sits behind an enameled 2" dial. Resting in the lower section of the case is a separate movement, not attached to the timepiece, which animates the fountain rods. 9"W x 15"H x 7"D. Est. $6,000 - 8,000.

The 3.75"dial including the brass fancy sash is 5 inches in diameter. The case is in beautiful condition with no visible imperfections. It has an exposed Brocot escapement with steel pallets. A plain brass bezel with beveled glass crystal. It has its brass movement access dust cover. This case is decorated with mostly pink with an unusual farm scene. The silk thread calendar movement has a double coiled anvil strike and is signed "L. Lyre a' Hambro." Silvered 5"dial with 3, 1"subsidiary gold dials showing the month, date and seconds. 146          ANSONIA DOUBLE FIGURAL SWINGING CLOCK The figures of a fisherman and a falconer, left and right, are decorated in French clothing and hold their "catch of the day" in their outside hands. Their inside hands are stretched up holding a decorative platform with an "X" suspension spring. The swinging pendulum hangs from this spring. The time and bell strike silk thread movement strikes on the hour and half hour and it is numbered 3580 and signed 15 B. 160          GILT BRONZE FRENCH FIGURAL ANNULAR MANTLE CLOCK 2 figural winged putti standing on a white marble platform with bronze mounts, balancing the clock case on a marble and bronze pedestal. The case features a gilt brass frame mounted with a domical bronze finial on top. The movement sits behind a cylindrical glass insert features a lever platform escapement, time and bell strike with a double rotary dial showing porcelain inserts. The massive time, strike and chime brass clock movement was made in England. The clock has 8 tubes for the Westminster and Whittington chime selection. 163          FRENCH BRONZE SILK THREAD SUSPENSION 3 PC CLOCK SET The gilt bronze case is very finely decorated with intricate detail, forming a large architectural cathedral. The crest is mounted with a pair of figural winged putti each holding a cornucopia of fruit. Below, the pilasters on either side of the dial show large capitols at the top and figural robed maidens at the base surrounded in leaf and scrolled decoration. The bronze 3.75"dial shows porcelain inserts painted with numerals behind a beaded bezel. The lower section has stairs leading up the cathedral with relief molded putti and phoenix forming the front. On either side is a landing with a robed figural maiden holding an urn. The time and strike silk thread movement is signed Douillon, missing the pendulum and bell. The two candelabras have 5 arms each, they are very finely molded showing scrolling arms and filigree and 3 figural mermaids at the triangular platforms. This clock was made to hang off the side of a building from its bow with a large bracket. Weight driven signed E. Howard & Co. time only pendulum regulated brass movement. There is an old coat of paint over the original gold leaf finish. Nice old unrestored appearance from being outside for many years. An original dial signed with the jewelers name, "Goldman's Watch Repairing, Standard Time, E. Howard, Boston Mass."
