This Colt New Frontier Buntline .22 lr was manufactured in 1975, originates from a notable lineage of firearms from Colt, an American gun manufacturer established in the 19th century. “New Frontier” is a statement of the western aesthetics, lending itself to recognition of “the wild west” era. The model you have, a “Buntline” special, has roots linked to Ned Buntline, a famous writer, who supposedly gifted specialized Colt revolvers with elongated barrels to lawmen. It has a blues barrel, grip frame and 6 shot fluted cylinder with a case hardened frame, and factory Colt Eagle Crest bakalite checkered grips. It has signs of use with some finish wear on the muzzle and some scratches on the barrel and grip frame. Please see photos. C&R
