Public Online Auction - Incredible original 1961 Chevrolet Apache
This truck was purchased brand new in Texas. The owner sold the truck to his brother years ago. The brother had someone hit the passenger side door and fender and he parked it. It had not moved until the vehicle as shipped to our facility in Alabaster, Alabama this past year. It is in remarkable condition! Actual miles are less than 60,000.
1961 Chevrolet Apache * original 6 cyl, 3 speed on the column * Original paint and outstanding patina! * Short wheel base, step side * brand new tires * Original interior *
Condition: Body - Absolutely no rust through anywhere we can see! It has been in a dry barn for many years. As you can see in the photos, the passenger side was swiped. It has exterior metal dents to the passenger door, front fender, cab corner and some on the bed side. Several brand new replacement panels are included with the truck including exterior door skin, front fender and cab corners. You may prefer not to replace the skins. We have had a couple of good body men look at it and say that it is not that difficult to repair without replacing.
Mechanicals: The owners family states that they poured gas into the carb and jumped it off. The engine ran great. It does need some new hoses, fuel lines and most likely a new fuel tank. We have made not attempts to start it since it was delivered to us.
Documentation: Alabama did not titling cars until 1976. This truck does have a title from the State of Texas in the owners name that goes with it.
If you are looking for a rust free, true barn find truck, this is it. It would be a fantastic restomod project or leave it as is and just get it running again. The truck has a very reasonable reserve that is not disclosed.
Bidding opens soon. Online bidding will end on Monday, March 8 @ 7:00pm. Inspection at Pearce Auction Center in Alabaster, Alabama
