The lifelong collection of Larry's guns were accumulated in the 1950's and 60's on the Navajo Reservation in and around Window Rock, Arizona. Larry and Clara taught math and English to the Navajos during this time, ran a couple of gas and oil stations as well as other businesses. Larry traded the majority of these guns with the Navajos, brought them back to Arkansas and stored them since 1968. A few of the guns were bought during that time at places such as the now historical Hubbell Trading Post. If you are looking for a collector gun that is in immaculate condition, don't look here, keep searching. Each gun has honest wear and tear and its own unique story. Larry told very few people about his guns, but we have found out his collection wasn't a secret. The only secret was only two or three people have ever seen them since 1968.
Just ask the locals, Larry truly was a different dude. He had a certain swagger even before swagger was a word... Humble, Unique, cool, kind, generous and a little mysterious, maybe mischievous at times. these are just a few words used to describe him ….the hair ! Don't forget the hair! Boy he had some hair....that was his trademark. Everyone loved that mop. You couldn't miss it, it was thick enough two hide two screwdrivers , a cup of coffee, and some bailing wire.
To us, he was simply Daddy and PaPa … We miss him everyday.
It is with mixed emotions that we offer you part of what he collected over the past 60 years.....We hope you enjoy owning one as much as Larry enjoyed buying them...
Good Luck and Happy Bidding !
