Manufactured in 1968 as per serial number. This pre 1969 “J” prefix designation “No Dash” Model 36 is a final production 6 digit serial number year revolver. Known as “The Chiefs Special” it is is a compact, steel-framed .38 Spl revolver with a 2” snubnose barrel and a 5 shot fluted cylinder. It features a blued finish, fixed sights, an exposed hammer, and factory checkered walnut grips with S&W medallions. There is quite a bit of finish wear throughout with about 50% bluing. It has very good timing and a strong lockup. Please see photos. C&R
