The Smith & Wesson Model 686-6 with a 6” full underlug barrel and a 6 shot fluted cylinder is a definitive standard for medium-large “L-Frame” stainless steel double action revolvers built to chamber full-power .357 Magnum and .38 Special ammunition. This generation integrates the standard S&W internal safety lock system located just above the cylinder release latch. Moving away from the floating firing pin design, the -6 utilizes a modern frame-mounted firing pin coupled with a transfer bar safety. It features Metal Injection Molded (MIM) internal triggers and hammers, which offer consistent geometry and exceptionally smooth baseline surfaces. It has maintained the red ramp front and adjustable rear sights, case colored trigger and hammer, and a beautiful smooth finger groove rose colored walnut factory grip.
