Item description:

Make: Winchester
Model: Model 1903
Caliber: 22CAL
Action: Pump
Barrel: 20
Bore: Shiny
Serial # 95688
Condition: Very Good
Manufactured in 1918 based on its factory serialization records, this historic long gun holds a significant place in firearms engineering as America's very first commercially successful semi-automatic rimfire rifle. Specifically designed by legendary Winchester engineer T.C. Johnson, it is chambered exclusively for the vintage .22 Winchester Automatic cartridgea unique rimfire round created specifically to prevent early smokeless powder pressures from being used in standard black powder firearms of the era. Utilizing a smooth, blowback-operated mechanical system and a classic tubular magazine fed directly through a port in the right side of the walnut buttstock, this early 20th-century milestone rifle beautifully balances antique industrial heritage with timeless mechanical utility.
