The Meriden Firearms Co. 12-gauge side-by-side is an early 20th-century shotgun manufactured in Meriden, Connecticut, between 1905 and approximately 1918. Originally owned by Sears, Roebuck & Co., the company produced both standard field guns and higher-end models under designer A.J. Aubrey. This shotgun has �Damascus� steel barrels and has historical collector value, though they are �Rarely Safe to Fire�. It has checkered walnut forend and stock with a bakelite buttplate. In its original patina it has rust on the exterior of the barrel, some pitting on the receiver, and scratches, dings on the wood furniture. Please see photos. C&R
