The Smith & Wesson Model 59 in factory nickel is a highly collectible, first-generation “Wonder Nine” semi-automatic pistol produced between 1971 and 1982. Out of approximately 231,850 total Model 59s manufactured, only about 10% (roughly 23,100) left the factory with a nickel finish, making them significantly rarer than their blued counterparts.
