This Savage M6 .22 caliber rifle. Manufactured Circa 1937 model without gills. The modified actions were generally produced during or in the early part of World War II, possibly for a government contract variation or simply an initial production design before revisions were made. Hand checkering on the pistol grip. Early versions of the M6 does not have a ‘click-clack’ action and no gills. Period Weaver 6C scope. C&R
