The 1877 Colt DA (Double Action) Lightning was a historic .38 caliber revolver, Colt’s first successful double-action design, known for its complex mechanism, popularity with Old West figures like Billy the Kid, and its nickname among distributors for the .38 Colt chambering. Developed by William Mason to compete with European double-action revolvers, featuring a bird’s head grip. In its original patina with some original finish still showing on the barrel, and 6 shot fluted cylinder. It has fixed sights, and checkered bakelite birds head grips with the Colt Pony. includes a soft zip case. The bore is bright with some slight pitting, lands and grooves look good Please see photos.
