Item description:

An authentic pair of antique American primitive stoneware utility crocks. Both pieces feature a classic two-tone finish consisting of a creamy bristol white glazed lower body contrasted by a rich, dark Albany slip brown glazed upper shoulder and collar. These traditional thick-walled open containers were essential utilitarian kitchen staples across 19th and early 20th-century American households. This mixed-size pair makes an excellent decorative statement lot for country primitive or farmhouse style decor.
Type: Two-Tone Open Stoneware Crocks
Quantity: Two (2) varying size crocks sold as one lot
Measurements (Taller Crock): Stands approximately 8.25 Inches tall with an 8-inch top rim diameter.
Measurements (Shorter Crock): Stands approximately 5.5 Inches tall with an 8-inch top rim diameter.
Condition Report: Primitive collector’s condition showing historic wear. The shorter crock remains structurally sound with superficial scuffs, minor production glaze skips, and light interior residue from usage. The taller crock features a prominent, tight vertical hairline fracture (visible on both the interior wall and exterior surface) extending downward through the brown glazed upper band, rendering it suitable for decorative display purposes only. Both pieces display unglazed bottoms, characteristic kiln touch-marks, and fine age-appropriate surface crazing.
