An authentic, highly collectible piece of mid-century aviation memorabilia featuring a vibrant red Trans World Airlines (TWA) flight bag. Manufactured during the golden age of aviation, this style of bag was commonly issued to airline crew members and sold to passengers as premium travel luggage.
Product Specifications & Features
Brand / Corporate Logo: Features the iconic mid-century dual-globe TWA logo printed inside a golden-bordered white oval emblem on both the front and rear panels.
Construction: Durable, heavy-duty red vinyl or nylon canvas body framed by classic white vinyl contrast piping. Includes double stitched top carry handles reinforced with four polished chrome metal rivets on each side.
Hardware: Equipped with four protective silver-tone metal feet on the bottom panel, a smooth-glide top main zipper, and an adjustable, detachable red shoulder strap with chrome metal lobster claw clasps.
Interior: Fully lined in matching red waterproof vinyl or PVC coating, featuring an integrated internal side slip pocket for travel documents and a rigid bottom board inserts for shape retention.
Manufacturer Markings: The bottom base is screen-printed with an unused, blank passenger ID block reading “This Bag Property Of: Name, Address, City, State”. Officially marked underneath with the text: “Mfg. by Airline Textile Mfg. Co., Des Moines, Iowa, USA under exclusive license from owner of trademark and/or name which appears thereon. Condition Report
Exterior: Very good vintage condition. The main red fabric is structurally sound with no rips or structural tears. The screen-printed TWA logos remain bright and completely legible. Light, typical surface smudges, minor scuffs, and small black storage marks are visible on the lower corners and base, consistent with age and occasional travel use.
Interior: Exceptionally clean. The vinyl interior lining is free of ink stains, heavy flaking, or odors. The stitching along the main zipper tracks remains tight.
