An antique mantle clock manufactured by Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn., USA, dated April 28, 1896. This ornate clock features a decorative green ceramic or pottery case with extensive gold-painted rococo-style accents and a floral-painted dial. The clock face shows some cracking in the enamel and has an "IS A FI" marking at 12 o'clock. Includes the winding key. The back cover opens to reveal the brass clockwork mechanism. Condition is consistent with age; cracking on dial, some wear to gilding, mechanism appears intact but functionality and time calibration is untested. Location Gallery B Shelf 1
