Carved and Inlaid Walnut Black Forest, Double Cuckoo Clock, German, c. 1900. Clock has a 3-weight time, strike and cuckoo brass movement complete with weights and pendulum. This Bahnhausle Style or Railway-House design, was very popular during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Case height is 24″. GK, (George Kuehl) stamped on brass movement with a date stamped on door that looks like Mar 20, 1903. George Kuehl, a German manufacturer active in the early 20th century. GK movements are highly collectible, often associated with antique Black Forest railroad-style clocks typically produced between roughly 1908 and 1926. The 3 Cuckoo bellows work when operated by hand. See photos. See photos for details. Pendulum ran overnight, hands weren’t on tight so they didn’t move. Trim piece missing on bottom left of roof line, small crack left side of leaf decoration at the peak. Chimed on the quarter hours when stem was turned manually. Unable to produce Cuckoo but that may be due to an operator deficiency or need of adjustment. See photos.
